Taking my pension
You can take your retirement benefits at any time between the ages of 55 and 75. If you joined the scheme before 6 April 2006 and have left the company, you can take your benefits from age 50.
If you would like to retire from the scheme, please apply to the trustees, c/o DMGT Pensions, at least three months in advance, quoting your pension number.
There are a number of decisions you will need to make before you take your pension.
- Do you want all your benefits paid as pension?
- Do you want to give up part of your pension for tax-free cash?
- Do you want to take a bridging pension?
- Who would you like to receive the benefits payable when you die?
To help you make these decisions please refer to Your retirement and beyond.
Please note that you must take your pension before reaching age 75, even if you carry on working. You will not be able to earn any additional pension once you reach age 75 and your contributions will automatically stop.
