What is available?

There are two sections of the scheme. Which section you join depends on how long you have been working for DMGT and the amount you feel you can afford to pay.

Standard:

You can join the Standard section if you have worked for DMGT for at least a year. For full details of the Standard section, please refer to the scheme guide.

To join the Standard section you need to complete an application form.

Pension+:

You can join Pension+ if you have worked for DMGT for at least five years. For full details of Pension+, please refer to the scheme guide.

To join Pension+ you need to complete an application form.

Below is an at-a-glance comparison of the differences between the two sections - Standard and Pension+.

Feature Standard Pension+
Your contribution (yearly) 5% of your scheme salary. 7.5% of your scheme salary.
Normal Retirement Age (NRA) This is your 65th birthday. This is your 62nd birthday.
Pension rate Your pension is based on a pension rate of 1.4% of pensionable salary for each
year of pensionable service.
Your pension is based on a pension rate
of 1.8% of pensionable salary for each year
of pensionable service.
Early retirement Pension built up before 1 July 2005 will only be reduced for early payment if you retire before age 60. Any pension built up on or after 1 July 2005 will be reduced for early payment if you retire before age 65. Your pension will only be reduced for early payment if you retire before age 60.
Late retirement If you retire after age 65, contributions will continue to be payable by you and your employer, and you will continue
to build up pension benefits in the normal way.

Ill-health retirement
(full incapacity pension)
If approved by your employer, your pension is calculated in the normal way, using your pensionable salary calculated
at the time you have to retire, based on pensionable service to date plus 50% of potential pensionable service up to age 65, subject to a maximum of 40 years.

maximum of 40 years. On electing to transfer to Pension+, the enhanced
benefit will be available immediately on 1 July 2005 unless your instruction to join is delayed beyond this date. In which case, eligibility for the enhanced benefit will be delayed for an equivalent period.
Death in service cash The trustees will pay out tax-free cash of two times your total salary to your dependants. The trustees will pay out tax-free cash of three times your total salary to your dependants.
Transfers-in The trustees are currently not accepting transfers into this section of the scheme. You are therefore unable to transfer to the scheme any benefit you
have with any other pension scheme.
